Free while we are in early access
Rather not make the calls yourself?
Leave your number and we'll do it for you. Free while we're in early access.
A person here phones the businesses on this list, asks the questions you would have asked, and comes back to you with what they said. We do not send anybody out, we do not check anybody, and none of these businesses knows this page exists. You still pick who does the work and you still pay them directly.
Before you hang up
What to ask when you call
- 1Read them the license number on the card and ask them to confirm it. A business that hesitates over its own license number is the wrong call.
- 2Ask what the callout fee is and whether it comes off the repair. That single question explains most of the gap between two quotes for the same job.
- 3Ask whether the price you are given includes parts, and what happens if the part is not on the van.
- 4Ask when they can actually be on site, not when they can book you in. Those are different answers.
- 5Describe the symptom rather than your diagnosis. What it is doing, since when, and what changed.
- 6Ask for the quote in writing before work starts, even if it is a text message. It is the only version either of you can check later.
